Job Description (position summary):

The Krais Lab is seeking a researcher to work on DNA damage response and cancer biology. Current projects investigate how cells navigate a complex signaling environment following DNA damage and ultimately engage one of several possible repair mechanisms. We are exploring 1) how DNA damage signaling impacts tumor progression and therapy responses, and 2) how DNA damage response alterations can be exploited to treat and prevent cancer. On the Job Training:

The researcher will work with Dr. John Krais and others within the Siteman Cancer Center for Genome Integrity and the Washington University School of Medicine. Individuals who join this lab will gain advanced research skills in advanced microscopy, cutting-edge genomics techniques, genome editing, patient-derived cancer models, and transgenic mouse development (more info at: https://www.kraislab.com/research/#strategies). Members of the lab work as a team, supporting one another’s individual projects. Appointees have the opportunity to gain valuable mentorship and leadership skills. Postdoctoral appointees are also encouraged to pursue independent funding, and will work closely with Dr. Krais to sharpen their grant writing skills. Additionally, the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs offers a plethora of professional development workshops as well as tons of resources to support your wellness and sense of belonging.
